Snow and ice,
Sleet and hail,
Nature's surprises never fail.
Gliding the breeze so soft,
Wind barely a whisper,
A hunter hidden in an icy world
And covered in mist-fur.
A wing, a talon, a beak, a claw,
This raptor has no flaw.
Gale tumbles this way and that,
But this creature needs no landing mat.
A pair of eyes
A ghostly shriek
A hunter's claws
A pointed beak
Sleet and snow hide away
The snow-feathered hunter that sleeps all day
No mouse is safe until day's rise,
For at night the hunter takes to the skies.
Wings make no sound
Hidden, not found
Until it lands on the ground
With snow all around.
Swoop and sway.
This is your way.
Wait out the day
Before flying away.
Snow and ice,
Sleet and hail,
Nature's surprises never fail.
