The plan worked out better than they had hoped.

Shade and Winter let Farosh go with plenty of warnings and threats, and Hydros told the police about being attacked by Farosh and kicked out of Rain View. After that, Hydros returned to the Tower, where he and the Misfits eagerly watched their plan play out on the news on their old, worn TV.

Farosh had run straight to the police, probably to tell them about the Misfits and twist the story to his favor, but unfortunately for him and to the joy of the Misfits, the police had put him straight into prison for attempted murder. From there, Rain View got a new Headmaster, and Hydros was accepted back into the school. 

Although Hydros was away at school most of the time, he still visited the Misfits in the Tower, and he eventually became a Misfit himself. He and Shade became good friends, Winter became a bit less grumpy, Hydros and Vida named Shade’s dragons, and life moved on peacefully.

Or they thought. 

What they didn’t know was that Farosh was plotting revenge. That the police were still searching for Shade and whoever had frozen Cocoa Bud Village. That Shade’s family was coming up with a plan for getting rid of the shadows once and for all.

But that didn’t matter then. The five Misfits and the recently-named shadow dragons were happy, and well hidden. Nobody knew that there was a story of adventure right under their noses.
