Ice

It's harder to live than to die,
Easier to crawl than to fly,
Easier to flee than to fight,
Easer to hope than to make things right.

Easier to quench the flame than to keep it burning,
Easier to give up than continue learning,
Easier to fear than to fight,
Easier to see dark, not light;

Easier to fall than to climb to the top,
Easier to weep like a mop,
Instead of admitting we're wrong
And changing things,

Easier to rip the paper than to preserve it,
Easier to break the glass than to make it,
Easier to go out than to flame,
Easier to never admit we're wrong,
The worlds not perfect,
Than to fix the cracks
That broke the ice
And plunged us
Into cold water.
